In our final vodcast fashion stylist Tony will chat about his choice of outfit for a Valentine's date.

CREATE YOUR MOST FLIRTATIOUS EYES

Caroline: “Hi I'm Caroline Barnes, Max Factor's make-up artist. Today I'm going to create really flirtatious eyes and lashes using new False Lash Effect Mascara. I'm also going to create a look for Valentine's Day that's right on trend this season.

This spring/summer eyes are soft and smoky and lashes are long and pretty. This is where new False Lash Effect comes into play. It's a genius mascara because it separates each lash from root to tip making lashes look really elongated.

One of the reasons it works so well is because it has a big brush with more bristles - so each lash has more contact with the mascara. The effect is really volumising. So shall we get started Simone!

Before I begin applying the eye shadow I'm going to brush some translucent powder over the lid and under the eyes so that if I get any eye shadow on the skin I can simply brush it off and it won't stain your beautiful foundation. Today we're using Max Factor eye shadow in Stormy Blue from the Earth Spirits range.

Start by applying the eye shadow along the top lash line. Use the lash line as a guide and sweep your colour all along the lid. If you start the intensity along the lash line it allows you to blend right up into the eye socket so the colour feathers out and looks really natural.

Simone: Is it ok to just use one colour?

Caroline: Yes, for this look and for the trends of spring/summer it's lovely to just use one eye shade. Using one isn't too intense and it becomes just a lovely wash of colour along your lid. Sometimes if you use more than one colour it looks too fussy and can be a little bit ageing.

So I've done the top of your lid. Before I put some eyeliner on I'm going to put a lovely soft, thin line of shadow underneath your eye to open them right up. You can use the foam applicators to apply your shadow or the tip of a cotton bud or a brush. So take the eye shadow along the lower lash line and into the socket of the eye to get a real wash of colour. If you're worried about the colour being too strong just take a blending brush and sweep it along the eye shadow and blend for a soft finish.

Now we've finished applying the eye shadow take a brush and sweep away any translucent powder for a clean finish.

For more impact, I'm going to blend Kohl pencil seamlessly into the eye shadow base. When you use your Kohl pencil make sure it's not too sharp - blunt the point on your hand first. Use the side of the pencil to line the top and bottom of your eye so you get a nice, soft colour. Now blend the Kohl with a cotton bud so the black is softened into the base of your lashes for a smoky finish. I want the eyeliner to accentuate your features - not really look like it's there.

Now we're ready for the mascara. I'm going to start by tracing my False Lash Effect along the lower lash line, backwards and forwards to get a clean look. It's a good idea to start with the bottom lashes as if you do the top ones first when you look up the mascara prints little spider marks on your brow. Now for the top lashes. I'm going to start in the centre of the lashes and really wiggle the mascara from the base. Think of it like your styling with a hairdryer. You're really trying to pull your lashes into position so the centre lashes are standing to attention. The outside lashes should be pulled outwards and the inner lashes should come towards the nose to create a fan-like effect. Normally I would use two coats of mascara but False Lash Effect gives me a great effect just with one coat and it's really, really pretty.

Wow - your eyes look amazing Simone! We've really created the effect of false lashes without all the fiddling, and it's natural!”

GET THE LOOK FOR VALENTINE'S DAY

Caroline: Simone, now I'm going to team your soft, smoky eyes with delicate, pink lips and a great foundation base. The key to this Valentine's look is to let your eyes do the talking!

Let's start with your foundation. I'm going to use Max Factor's Colour Adapt in Natural on your skin. I love this foundation because it's really light and fresh - it feels like you're not wearing anything at all. I've already applied some moisturiser on Simone's face to allow the foundation to settle beautifully.

I'm applying Colour Adapt on Simone's T-Zone first just to neutralise her skin tone and hide any redness. This foundation is best applied with your fingers or a sponge. I use fingers on my skin as your hands warm the foundation allowing it to settle perfectly. This foundation is designed to match your skin tone. Just as your face isn't the same colour all over, this foundation works in harmony with your skin to create a sheer, natural look.

Now for some blusher. I'm massaging some Miracle Touch Creamy Blush in Soft Pink on the top part of your cheek bone in a diagonal direction towards your hairline. If you position your blusher slightly higher it instantly lifts your complexion. As a guide, try to apply your foundation where your skin naturally flushes as this creates the most natural effect. I love this shade because anyone can wear it - it just emulates the natural flush you have in your cheeks.

Now for the lips. As we're creating the perfect look for Valentine's Day, lips should be kissable - not too strong and bold. I'm using Lipfinity Colour & Gloss in Radiant Rose to give you a hint of natural, oyster pink colour that lasts all night. Start by tracing the base coat on the outer lip line first. Now rub your lips together and gently pat the colour in towards the centre of your lips. The key to making your colour last is to wait sixty seconds before applying the top, gloss coat. This top coat gives you a glossy, multi-dimensional finish that looks really dewy.

So Simone, you look like a beautiful siren! This look is right on trend and by using lashings of False Lash Effect Mascara, you're sure to catch a few admiring eyes!

Simone: Wow, I like it. Now all I need is a pretty dress and I'm ready to head out!

FINISHING TOUCHES - WARDROBE & STYLING

Caroline: So now I've finished Simone's make-up and we've styled her hair I'd like to introduce you to Tony. Tony, you're a fashion stylist and you've helped create Simone's look tonight and she looks absolutely amazing. So tell me about your inspiration.

Tony: Well my inspiration was St Valentine's Day but I took references from the twenties. That's why I chose this very simple, flapper dress with a twist. It's got some sequins on the side which gives it extra sparkle.

Caroline: I love the fact that the dress is a nude shade so being dark haired it really throws Simone's hair and eyes forward.

Tony: Exactly, it really suits her skin and colouring. To complement the dress I've chosen these green, suede heels which really blend in perfectly with the dress. For her accessories, I went back to my twenties reference and chose a long, pearl necklace which is really feminine and classic. I've also added some chunky bangles for an element of fun.

Caroline: Well Simone, I just think you look utterly beautiful and I wish you a very happy, sexy Valentine's night!
