'Spring 2010' Look

Hi! I’m Caroline Barnes, Max Factor’s Make-up Artist. Now I want to show you a really hot look that has come off the Spring-Summer Catwalk’s 2010. It was created by Pat McGrath. It is a summery take on the wintery Smoky Eye, injecting a little bit of a colour into that black Kohl that you have been wearing for many months.

So what I’ve done is built up on the already ‘Smoky Eye’ look for the ‘Ultra Glam’ look. I’ve inject the ‘Ultra Aqua’ Eyeshadow from the ‘Earth Spirits Eyeshadow’ range.

Now I am going to apply the Lash Extension Effect Mascara and it really helps having such a fabulous brush. It’s the tapered end that really helps to get into the corner lashes and gives sexiness to the eyes. You can apply two or three coats for this because this a nice strong look which needs lots of dramatic lashes to match and keep them spreading out to get that lovely fan-like effect.

To give a little bit of a twist, we have added Colour Collections cream Eyeshadow shade just under the brow. It is very easy just pat it in with your finger. It sits there and creates a highlight which gives it a bit of an 80’s twist. The lashes look very sexy against it since we have kept the liner very close to the lashes which give it real thickness. Underneath the eyes we have just put a little bit of a light just in the corner and swept a bit of the ‘Turquoise’ shade just underneath in the inner corner of the eyes. I’m going to use a cotton bud just to soften the look under the eyes. This helps the dark circles and shapes your eyes. Just very lightly I’m going to apply the soft ‘Kohl’ pencil along the bed of the lash line. If you use the side of the pencil you can get a really nice soft intense line.

So we have kept a very nice natural bronzer carving in a lot of the bone structure and giving nice pretty shadows and taken the colour out of the lips. I have taken the Miracle Touch Creamy Foundation just around her lips to give a nice matte finish and also take the pink out of the lips. Now we take the ‘Top Coat’ balm of the ‘Lipfinity’ range to keep the lips sensuous and soft. The lips look really nude and this sets the eyes off.

The model’s eyes look dynamic and she looks beautiful, like she has just come off the cat-walk.
