Max Factor

NEW SECOND SKIN FOUNDATION

BEFORE APPLICATION

Hi I’m Caroline Barnes and today I want to introduce to you a fantastic new foundation. It’s called Second Skin by Max Factor and it is a foundation breakthrough.

[Caroline and three models namely, Layla, Lina and Simone are sitting in a studio with a makeup mirror and lights]

As a make-up artist I get sent heaps and heaps of make-up products but when you receive a product with a new technology it’s even better. This product lightens the darkness under your eyes, evens out blemishes, gives a beautiful radiance to your skin and the trick is it is ‘virtually undetectable’ and a very beautiful product. I want to show this to you and show you how easy it is to obtain a lovely natural skin.

[Caroline is holding the Second Skin Foundation bottle]

I have got three gorgeous girls here, Layla, Lina and Simone. All very natural today and I am going to demonstrate how fantastic and easy it is to create such a very natural skin that is basically undetectable.

[Caroline and the three models are in focus]

A lot of you have been asking on the Max Factor Facebook Page on how to get the right foundation colour. So I am going to take Lina to the make-up area and show you step-by-step how to get the right foundation Colour for your skin.

[Caroline and Lina get up and walk to the make-up area]

CHOOSING YOUR PERFECT SHADE

When you are trying to pick up a perfect foundation colour for yourself all you need to do is take into account your chest skin tone and match it with your face. Sometimes the tone may be different to the tone on your face.

[Caroline and Lina are at the make-up area. Caroline is teaching how to choose the right foundation shade.]

In Lina’s case her skin is a little lighter because she always uses SPF which is very good and protecting your face from the sun makes sure that it does not go as dark. If you do not match the foundation colour with your chest skin tone then the foundation colour will always look fake and mismatched. If you combine them you will get a more natural look.

Just apply the foundation to the side of your cheek and choose the shade that is most natural to your skin.

APPLYING SECOND SKIN FOUNDATION

[Caroline and Layla are sitting at the makeup area]

So now I’m going to show you how easy it is to apply the Second Skin Foundation by Max Factor.

If I were to apply the foundation myself, I would have applied it with my finger just like you apply a moisturiser, so that it connects well with the skin. But when I am working with a celebrity or model it is better to apply it with a brush because it feels nicer on the skin.

As you are going to apply the foundation it is best to start around the T-Zone of the skin and I am taking it slightly under Layla’s eyes and taking it around her nose across her cheek bones and lightly under the chin. I can already see a lovely radiance on her skin.

As a make-up artist it is wonderful to see how the foundation disappears and mimics the skin and it is the multi-tonal pigments in the product. It is really exciting to work with something that gives such a natural polished finish quickly.

Layla says: Does it cover my freckles?

Caroline: No it does not. It is translucent and it is very important for Layla to show her freckles. She has the coverage and everything just diminishes and she has a perfectly natural looking skin.

[Caroline applies the Second Skin Foundation on Layla’s face]

Layla: It is really light and you cannot see where the foundation ends, no streaky lines, nothing. It is very fresh and absolutely lovely.

[Layla is looking into the mirror and reviewing the Second Skin Foundation. Caroline goes back to Lina and Simone]

SEE THE NATURAL RESULTS

Caroline asks Layla to join Lina and Simone to show them how beautiful her skin looks.

[Layla walks back towards the couch where Lina and Simone are sitting with Caroline]

Layla asks Lina and Simone what they think. Lina says it is amazing and it looks absolutely natural and fresh and glowing. Layla says that she feels really light and that she has no foundation on. Lina agrees that it looks very light and must feel light too.

Caroline says it adds radiance to her skin and does not look like a goldenly feel on the skin. It looks like real freshness.

Caroline adds how she has finished Layla’s look. To compliment the lovely fresh skin look we have used a layer of Max Factor Masterpiece Max on her lashes, Soft Copper Miracle Touch Cream Blusher on the apples of her cheek and a little bit of Peachy Gloss on her lips. This is a lovely way to finish and complement a day look.

Caroline goes through the shades of the Second Skin Foundation used on the models as a guide for you to use the foundation at home.

[Camera focuses on each model]

Simone: For Simone who has a typically English complexion. A pale skin can be hard to get a perfect foundation colour for. The Creamy Ivory is not too pink or yellow in it so looks very natural and blends into the skin very well. To warm it up we have used soft copper on apples of her cheek and a nice finished gloss to tie in natural reflective finish.

Lina: Lina has just come back from holiday and has a lovely golden finish to her skin tone. So I actually used the shade Golden. It complements a tan and if you like to use fake tan, you can try this as well. Just to finish we have used creamy blush in soft pink, adding a little bit of pink to a bronze complexion helps to break the tanned effect. We have also used a little bit a nude gloss.

Layla: Layla has got very dark hair and striking eyes so you want to use a colour that has a lovely depth in it. Bronze is a perfect colour for that and sits beautifully with the complexion of her skin and is very undetectable. Sometimes when you use a darker shade you skin can look very grubby and this Bronze gives freshness to Layla’s skin. We have added a little bit of soft copper on the cheeks and a very natural lip gloss.

Caroline mentions all the models look amazing.
